The project was supported by UNOCHA and assisted malnourished Children under 5 years of age, boys, girls, pregnant and lactating women (PLW) in Afmadow district in Lower Juba Regions. The project duration was February 2013 to February 2014.

The project targeted and supported 2000 persons comprising of 1400 severely and acutely malnourished children and 600 pregnant and lactating mothers in Afmadow districts in lower Juba region. The beneficiaries were provided micro-nutrient supplements to improve their body nutrients requirements and food supplements were provided to severely malnourished mothers in the project area.

Nutrition, health and hygiene promotion were conducted throughout the project locations as well as the counseling of the caretakers on best practices on breast feeding and healthy feeding.

52 Infant and young children feeding (IYCF) and hygiene promotion sessions were conducted in the project site for boys, girls and pregnant and lactating women (PLW) in Afmadow districts in lower Juba region.
