One community dialogue forums for religious leaders and local authority representatives was organized and conducted 16th March 2015 in Dollow. The forum was attended by 30 participants from different stakeholders and it lasted for one day only. This activity was an extension and a follow-up on similar activities conducted in 2013.The objective was to continually engage on the subject matter and establish whether;

  • The communities’ knowledge on harmful effects of FGM has improved
  • The community members commitment against the harmful practice has changed since the last dialogue
  • There have been remarkable events since the last engagement showing the community members sustained fight against FGM and other harmful practices in the community.
  • There are new and emerging challenges that need to be overcome in order to sustain the endavours to accelerate the abandonment of FGM.
  • New measures may be required to counter any emerging threats to the campaign.
